March 11-12 (Bethesda, MD)—Bone Marrow Failure Scientific Symposium

The Aplastic Anemia & Myelodysplastic Syndromes International Foundation (AA&MDSIF) is sponsoring the second Bone Marrow Failure Scientific Symposium.  The symposium is an opportunity for physicians and researchers to discuss controversies, share results of recent research, and make specific recommendations.  Registration is $150.

The Embracing Survivorship program is hosted by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is designed for cancer survivors, friends, and their family members.  Come learn about surviving cancer and pick up skills to increase well-being from 8:30 a. m. to 2 p.m.  Space is limited; please RSVP by March 6.

March 17 (Arlington, VA) – How to Understand Your Lab Results and What They Mean

If you want to know what your blood test results mean, come hear Dr. Thomas Butler from the Arlington & Fairfax Hematology & Oncology department from the Virginia Hospital Center from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.  This event is free, and light refreshments will be served.  Please register by March 15.

March 18 – Attend a webinar consisting of a combination of lecture and case studies to present the most current thinking on the treatment of lower-risk MDS. This webinar will review treatment strategies and options currently being used for patients with lower-risk. The factors that influence specific treatment decisions will also be included. The session will end with a brief discussion of the treatment options that are in development and
may be available in the future. Registration is available now for this webinar.
