My wife was diagnosed with MDS back in Feb. 2009. She was treated with procrit 40,00 and 60,000 units, to no avail.
She is now taking the revlimid 10mg capsule every other day plus blood transfusions(2 units) every two week, so far her RBC count has not been higher than 8.9 and it lasts for one week. The second week after the transfusion the RBC goes down to 7.5-7.8( she has not completed two cycles yet)
She is very depressed and worried , to say the least. (she still works full time)
I would like to get some comments from patients with similar condition. Also, how does one registers for the forum in lake success -long island, NY on Dec. 18
Please respond to my email address.

thank you very much
